Heroes

What makes a hero?

One who acts in the service of another; possessing an ability or skill for saving, rescuing, inspiring, or helping another.

What is your favorite hero and why do they speak to you?

In greek mythology: Orpheus (he defied hell with a harp for his wife)

In Marvel Comic mythology: Daredevil, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey

In DC Comic mythology: Batman

I’m drawn to heroes with a dark side. Heroes that understand their power as both a means to help and destroy and line between the two is a dangerous balancing act that keeps you from sleeping well. It’s these heroes that find the strongest sense of ethics and morality.

In art: James Dean and Ewan McGregor (they are heroes to me because admire the quality of their artistic work. I work hard to reach their caliber).

In my own life: Corey Anderson (he was the kind of father that I strive to be)

If you were a superhero, what would your super power be? Could you be tempted to use it for evil?

I would have the power of rapid regeneration that I could use personally or project to another. I could not be persuaded to use my power for evil.

What would your costume look like?

For the protection of my family I would disguise my identity. I would probably wear something simple with a simple half mask. I wouldn’t need padding or protection from a suit because of my super power so something cheap, easily replaceable, but unassuming…probably all black.

Monsters

What makes a monster?

One in possession of power greater than they can control.

What fictional monster scares you the most and why?

I’m most frightened of poltergeists or malicious ghosts/evil spirits. There’s something terrifying about the monster being everywhere and no where, inside you or near you without totally being aware of them. The bible stories of men possessed by evil spirits give me nightmares.

What everyday experience brings out the monster in you?

Not applicable.
