Heroes
What makes a hero?
Putting others before themselves, no matter the sacrifice. Self-awareness.
What is your favorite hero and why do they speak to you?
My mother. She is the embodiment of what I know a hero to be. She recognizes that her purpose is to become, shape, and form memories for her children. There’s nothing more selfless than that. To sacrifice everyday for someone’s memory. That’s beautiful.
If you were a superhero, what would your super power be? Could you be tempted to use it for evil?
Basically all the powers of Spider-Man. Can I just say Spider-man? How about like, an off-brand Spider-Man? And of course I would be tempted! Evil sounds like so much fun in certain moments! What truly makes a hero is what path we decide to walk in those moments. Those are the instances that define us. I hope that I would always use my powers for the right reasons.
What would your costume look like?
I imagine a home made hero type of look. I would buy a kevlar suit from Amazon.com (look it up) and throw on some elbow pads and knee pads. A nice tight fitting hoodie, gloves, and a wrapping around the bottom half of my face. Or maybe just an eye mask (like Nightwing) so it’s easier to breathe and whatnot.
Monsters
What makes a monster?
A distinct lack of self-awareness. Putting your desires exclusively before others in every situation.
What fictional monster scares you the most and why?
Any demon or spirit that I can’t physically fight. I’m not too worried about something if I can kick it’s butt. Those demons though, you can’t punch a possession.
What everyday experience brings out the monster in you?
An outside entity making me late for something important to me. Especially when I’ve planned ahead. You can’t fight that. It brings me to a place of selfishness that I don’t like at all.
